Paralegals in Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury & Family Law

We are currently looking for 3 Paralegals to work within our Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury and Family Departments based at Kings Street and Gloucester Road.  The roles will be offered on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The roles will involve the following:

• Undertaking certain elements of fee earning work under supervision. In particular:
  Interviewing clients, taking instructions, identifying appropriate funding, including Public Funding, keeping detailed file notes of instructions received and of advice given and of any other attendances upon clients and other parties.
• Deal wherever possible with routine client enquiries and communications
• Maintaining file check lists
• Assisting fee earners with research
• Assisting with computation of schedules of financial loss (CN and PI only)
• Drafting applications to the court and other court documents for approval by the fee earner
• To assist the secretarial and other support staff as required. In particular:
• Preparation of trial bundles and management of documents, including, photocopying, compilation of bundles of documents, delivery of documents to court and other parties and collection
• Assisting in the preparation of bills of costs and claims for costs to the Legal Services Commission
• Obtaining the approval of Accounts of all bills/claims prepared
• Obtaining payment on account from clients and from the Legal Services Commission

To succeed in the role you will need to be degree qualified and have completed the LPC, as well as demonstrating a clear commitment to and interest in claimant personal injury, clinical negligence work or Family Law.

This is a full time role working Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.15pm.

Marketing Assistant/Executive, Part Time, 3 days per week

A vacancy has arisen for a marketing assistant/executive to join the firm to assist with general marketing issues.

The post is part time, 3 days per week and will be based at all three of our offices i.e. King Street, (Central Bristol),  North Street (South Bristol) and Gloucester Road (North Bristol)  reporting primarily to Chris Miller, but also to the other members of the marketing team (Julie Scott, Adrian Stone, Katie Donne).

The role will involve liaising with heads of department, the marketing team and the graphic designer, website development company and search engine optimisation company regarding the production of articles and items for the website, producing a newsletter which will be sent out to clients and contacts in the New Year and thereafter on a regular basis, keeping the contacts database relevant and up-to-date, liaising with all departments regarding any particular marketing initiatives which may arise, and assisting the marketing team generally.
