Our approach towards Family Law

Disputes involving your family are frequently the most difficult for our clients to deal with, as they often involve so many emotions, hurt, grief and loss.

Where children are involved the situation is often more difficult because families have to continue to work together for the sake of the children.

The Barcan Woodward Family Team understands that it is important that our clients‘ cases are handled in a way that sensitively recognises those difficulties and enables our clients to move on in their lives, whilst protecting their interests.

All of our lawyers are members of Resolution (Resolution) a national organisation of family lawyers whose aim is to foster an approach to family law that encourages cooperation and minimal confrontation. Many of the solicitors locally are members and the benefit to our clients is that there is a common approach towards such work, which we feel, is less destructive to the family as a whole.

Our team of lawyers are all specialists in family law and we have 3 members of the Law Society children panel and a Resolution accredited specialist in the financial aspects of relationship breakdown on our team.

We are able to offer Legal Aid to those of our clients who need such support and are eligible to receive it. We also offer free half hour diagnostic interviews.
