Andrew Dobie

After obtaining a Law degree at Liverpool University, Andrew trained with the predecessor firm of Barcan Woodward, Gerald Davey and Co. He became a partner in 1990 and subsequently was one of the founding partners of Barcan Woodward.

Andrew specialises in domestic conveyancing and probate work. He is the partner in charge of the firm‘s South Bristol office in North Street, Bedminster.

Andrew‘s weekends are spent with his family and playing for Bath Buccaneers Hockey Club, nowadays as sweeper in the Ancient Mariners Team.

Julie Scott

Julie qualified in 1991 after completing her training in the City.  She has since worked at a variety of law firms, developing her skills and experience for a wide range of clients.  As a result, she is able to offer a broad range of expertise in commercial property, from sales and acquisitions to development.

Julie has a particular interest in secured lending work, having acted for various banks and building societies both on their panel and as a separate adviser.

She also enjoys landlord and tenant work, having acted for both landlords and tenants both in the retail and office markets.  Julie has advised national retailers during her career, in both retail and leisure.

Outside of the commercial property world, Julie spends most of her spare time with her young family

Giles Woodward

Giles is a Consultant and was one of the founding partners of the firm. He is based at the Horfield office and has worked there for over 21 years. Originally he undertook a broad variety of legal work but now concentrates only on Conveyancing and Wills and Probate.

He has considerable experience of house sales and purchases throughout England and Wales dealing with all types of properties ranging from studio flats to large country houses. Whatever transaction you are involved in he will try to make sure that it is dealt with quickly with minimum fuss and inconvenience. He also deals with a large range of commercial transactions including shop leases and industrial units.

Over the years he has helped many clients with making their wills and dealing with their financial affairs after they have died. He is often appointed executor and is able to deal with estates of all sizes whether simple or complex.

Caughlin Crosby

Caughlin is a Legal Executive. She has worked with solicitors since 1998 initially as a secretary then qualified as a legal executive in 2004. She joined Barcan Woodward’s residential conveyancing team based at the Bedminster office in July 2005. Caughlin works in all areas of residential conveyancing: sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, and since summer 2008 also Wills.

Jessica Lippiatt

Jessica Lippiatt joined Barcan Woodward in July 2009 as a Residential Property Legal Executive. She has been working in this field for 8 years and qualified as a fellow in 2007. During her career she has worked at a variety of law firms developing her skills and experience for a wide range of clients. As a result, she is able to offer a broad range of expertise in residential property. Whatever transaction you are involved in, she will try to make sure that it is dealt with quickly with minimum fuss and inconvenience

Jessica also enjoys marketing for the firm and is particularly interested in creating good relationships with local businesses to maximise the potential of new referrers.

Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her cats and has started to learn the piano.

Andrew Mooney joined the Conveyancing Team as a Conveyancer in July 2011 and will be based in the North Bristol Office where he will be taking on his own caseload of residential property purchases and sales.

Andrew is returning to Bristol, where he completed his law degree at UWE Bristol, from the North West where for the past year he has been working for a national solicitors firm in the Commercial Property team.  Prior to that Andrew spent 2 ½ years working in the residential property department for a firm of solicitors in Cumbria.

Outside of work Geordie Andrew is a big Newcastle United Fan and spends his free time with his Fiancee and 2 year old daughter.

Katherine Marsh

Katherine joins the busy Property Team at Barcan Woodward this February as a conveyancing solicitor having previously worked within the conveyancing team at another firm of solicitors in Bristol.

She studied law at The University of Bristol and qualified in April 2009 and is particularly interested in Commercial Property.

Outside work Katherine is a keen swimmer and relaxes by reading and spending time with her friends and family.
